I loved being an educator, and I still like to think of myself as one.
Working with little people teaches you a lot of things - like how to be an investigator - "Case 101: Solve the Mystery of Why a Child is Crying", a storyteller to capture their attention (it might last for 5 minutes), a translator to simplify concepts (kid talk) and most importantly, empathy to listen and care.
So why the pivot?
I always felt something was missing. I wanted to create a greater impact, beyond my classroom. I didn't feel entirely represented as an educator and so that sparked the journey which led me to UX.
For me, it all clicked, it blended my love for understanding human behavior, creative problem-solving, and story-telling to create real-life solutions - all driven by empathy. Here I am now, an educator turned UX/UI Designer.
Just as I told my students to go after their dreams, so did I, and I'm excited for what it holds.
